Tuesday.
Okay, yesterday and today I have spent cleaning something...why?! Well, alright, the house did need a once over and the little garden out front needed cleaning as well...glad I got it done!
Now back to more important things. I am nearly finished with the little elephant; it's too cute. I also got out and rode my bike and tomorrow will be another bike ride so I can get the scarf over to Carmen. I can't wait for her to see it! I've set myself some new goals. I am not just going out and buying things when I want to. I've decided that if I want something I'm going to have to set some useful goals to achieve them. So, this week I want to get a crock pot; fall is coming and I want to make some soup. But, in order to get said crock, my first goal is to workout for the whole week, either walking, gym or biking. So far, so good. I will have my new crock by weeks end, yay!

Ah Monday again
Monday.
Wow, has it really been a whole week? I guess it has. I've managed to finish Carmen's scarf last week and is it beautiful?! Yes, yes it is...delivering it to her on Wednesday this week. Now to get on to those socks that have been waiting patiently. I've also been working on the Teeny Tiny Mochimochi. I decided rather than got thru the book and decide where to start, I would just start at the beginning and work every one of them; currently working on finishing the elephant...tomorrow a fish! Okay enough for now, time to get some reading in. I'll try to get on here earlier tomorrow with everything else I'm involved with...so until then!
~Yeah, fall is creeping in...

Yikes! In a cleaning kinda mood
Friday.
I'm in a cleaning mood right now, will someone please save me! There is much knitting to get done. Yeah, yeah, yeah, floors to sweep and a bathroom to clean. But seriously, what would you do when there is a beautiful scarf waiting to get finished (much love on the scarf today!) and a dinosaur to complete and lest, we forget, SOCKS!
Okay, okay, I got it done. I'm glad to get that out of my system!

And finally, more progress...
Thursday.
Carmen's scarf...hmmm, my phone did not take such a wonderful shot after all. The color is so much prettier than it shows here. Oh well, I'm working on it, it won't be done before Sunday, but perhaps by next Sunday?...maybe (~:

Registered and progress
Wednesday.
Happy day! I'm registered for the Bike Commute Challenge; Throw Down Fun, fun, fun! This is scheduled to begin on Sept 1 and all I have to do is ride my bike to commute everywhere...easy peasy!
So far this week I have made this cutie, I call it the "Bean" sprout:
I also rec'd the new Teeny Tiny Mochimochi, book yesterday and I have to say, those patterns are adorable! It was hard to make a choice of what to start on first, but I narrowed it down to the dinosaur, pix to follow later.
As far as other progress, I have been making steady progress on Carmen's scarf, but alas, it will not be ready before Sunday...knit on, knit on, knit on! Yeah, and about the socks...well, those are still sitting in their bag, unloved, waiting for their turn. I am taking Friday off so it's gonna be bike to the park and knit some socks day.
So, even though I've not got much else done this week...I did clean the house, btw...I did get some knitting done!

Bring it on!
Monday.
Wow, what a great day! After work today I got my green coaster bike to the shop, Arriving by Bike, for a tune up; Ian was great, he went thru everything, balanced the tires, tightened what needed tightening and gave it an overall check over, and the best part, he only charged me $5! Sweet! So I asked about my other bike, which I ride all the time, and for an intense tune up...$65 maybe less. One of the best parts is, they are located practically across the street, in fact they're only just across the street from the gym I go to...I love my neighborhood!!!
Okay, now we are totally ready for the business commute-by-bike challenge throw down at work...bring it on! Helen found herself a helmet, I have the extra lock we need, we're ready to go. Even though the commute challenge is for work, the mileage we can roll in will still count, because the challenge is basically all about leaving the car at home and riding your bike to commute wherever. I am all over this, I don't own a car, I donated it to a charity shortly after I moved to Eugene (this is a biking, walking, bus town) and haven't looked back. I'm proud to say I am doing my part to remain "green" and lessen the damage on our Mother Earth. Now if I can get Helen to do the same, she won't even take the bus into town, she will drive over so she can ride...lol! No matter, we all do our part one way or another I guess.
And here it is, another day and no progress on Carmen's scarf; no new beans for Eric, and nothing done on Jamie's socks...it's time to crack down...NOW!

Sun today and a lovely bike ride
Sunday.
wow, what a difference from yesterday. Today the sun out in full force, so I took a ride. I hooked up and rode with some folks I didn't even know, but it was fun they were really nice. Then I left them and continued on my way. I managed about 12.5miles or so today between biking and walking; love Eugene! And despite all my best intentions I have yet to get any knitting done! I did, however, manage to get my other bike out and get the tires aired only to discover the tires seem to be unbalanced; hmmm who'd have known after sitting upside in my bedroom for the last 2.5 yrs they could get unbalanced, but there you have it, they are! So a quick call to the bike shop up the street has scored me an appointment after work tomorrow with bike guru, Ian, who is going to remedy the situation. I think I'm also going to have him raise the seat, it seems a bit low. I want to make sure all is squared away for Helen when we ride this Sunday. And speaking of Sunday, I really need to get on to Carmen's scarf! Okay, enough of this...get knitting!

A cloudy day
Saturday.
You know, some days are just too beautiful for words. Today was one of those days. When I went outside this morning I discovered one of my potted plants had been knocked over and a branch on my tomatoes had been broken; the deer have been back. It's all good though, they're just looking for something to eat. So, I aired my bike tires and off I went. What a fab day. I don't know how many miles I went, but I'm guessing at least 5-6 just out exploring before I finally decided on a spot to sit and knit. I brought my socks from the mystery sock KAL on Rav. I've decided to work chart 1 for the whole leg and then chart 3 for the heel. They're coming right along. I also registered for the Tour-de-Sock which starts Oct 1; I'm working on knitting faster to be better prepared, hahaha yeah right. And I've been invited to be on a team, so that's pretty cool too. Hee hee hee, we don't even have a name yet.
So, besides having worked on my socks today, I did get another bean out for Eric's stash and worked on Carmen's scarf. I really would like to have it done before Saturday next as Sunday is my appt and I'd like to give it to her then. This does not leave much time to finish knitting and blocking, but I'm going to work on it all tomorrow and try to have it done by at least Thurs so I can have enough time for the blocking. But then again, I'll probably be out riding first thing and then will get some knitting in. (~:

Deer in the garden
Friday.
I live in town, well at least on a very busy street blocks from city center. So it was a bit surprising for me to hear from my neighbor today that there was a doe and her 2 fawns in my garden today. Oh, and did I mention, I live in an apartment and my garden is all in pots! It turns out the fam was enjoying some of the mint I have growing, crazy! I asked him if he took photos but he said his batteries were gone. No matter, I think it's kind of exciting to have deer in my garden...welcome, but don't eat everything, we like to share with others too!
~At least I wasn't greeted by a raccoon at the front door...
